Papers of Robinson Jeffers, [manuscript], 1930-1945.

The collection contains manuscripts of "To the Stonecutter" and "Storm as Galeatto," excerpts of other poems, and letters to various correspondents. The collection also contains correspondence of Una Jeffers, wife of Robinson Jeffers, primarily with Courtland Schoonover, a Jeffers collector. In addition there is correspondence of Courtlandt Schoonover with various booksellers concerning his interest in collecting Jeffers' books and manuscripts. There is also a letter to John Wilson Townsend from Una Jeffers which gives genealogical information on the Jeffers family particularly in Pennsylvania and Kentucky. With the manuscript materials is a cedar roofing shingle removed from Jeffers' Tor House at Carmel, Calif., laid by him, with a printed broadside entitled "More than Firewood" signed by G. William Gahagan.
